COVID-19 Protocols:

Last updated Sept 3, 2020

We understand that these are unique times for everyone. The safety of individuals and communities is our priority. We look forward to building strong, healthy, creative experiences for our participants and staff. At Newfound Shores, we think this is best accomplished by respecting social health protocols while fostering new creative opportunities in our communities.

Note: Protocols may change at any time according to provincial legislation:

  • Visitors travelling to Newfoundland and Labrador from within the Atlantic Bubble (Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island) are not required to self-isolate in Newfoundland.

  • Visitors who are coming to Newfoundland and Labrador from domestic locations outside of the Atlantic Bubble must apply for a travel exemption with the Newfoundland Government Public Health Department. If excepted they are still required to complete 14 days of self-isolation upon arrival in the province.

Please refer to the Provincial Travel Guidelines for more information

  • Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19; with a history of international travel in the last 14 days; or with close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days must remain at home.

  • All participants must self-screen for symptoms of COVID-19 and isolate immediately if they present symptoms. There are no refunds should a participant become ill during the workshop.

  • Masks are recommended, and may be mandated, for use in indoor spaces where physical distancing of 2 metres is not possible. Masks will be worn outdoors when a 2-metre distance cannot be maintained. Please bring your own masks (Newfound Shores will have some on-hand).

  • Newfound Shores will provide hand sanitizer to be used throughout the workshop.

  • Personal transportation must be arranged for the duration of the workshop.

  • Adjustments may be made to group meals or snacks to account for any necessary adherence to COVID-19 provincial guidelines.

  • To support public health contact tracing efforts if an attendee tests positive, Newfound Shores will provide all participant contact information to the Department of Health and Community Services.

We ask that all participants respect these guidelines and the health of fellow attendees as well as staff. Distanced “Air High Fives” are a great way to show support and encouragement in a respectfully distant way!
